Product Description

Dova MCA 306 is a salt comprised of Melamine and Cyanuric acid. It is a halogen-free flame retardant that can be used in thermoplastic urethanes (TPUs) for electrical wire coatings.

  2. Lower smoke density, lower smoke toxicity and less corrosion.
  3. With sublimation temperature the highest 440ºC, MCA has a high thermal resistance and a good thermal stability in the processing.
  4. Addition levels of Dova MCA 306 are relatively low, giving good economics and mechanical properties compared to compounds containing halogen/antimony flame retardant systems.

Applications

Dova MCA 306 may be applied in flame retardant modification of various thermoplastic materials.Used as an effective flame retardant, primarily for electrical & electronic applications (connectors, switches, housings, etc.) made from polyamide or TPU.In unfilled or mineral filled compounds, it gives a UL94 V-0 rating; in glass filled system only a UL94 V-2 rating is possible. It is also be used as lubricant in kinds of thermoplastic materials.

Storage
Dova MCA 306 is non-hygroscopic. However, when stored in open container, the product can still absorb small amounts of moisture owing to the high surface area of the powder. It is in sealed containers at room temperature in a dry place. Partially emptied containers should be carefully resealed after use.
Minimum shelf life is 24months from the date of shipping when stored according to the said conditions.
